Beta-Carotene and the Skin

Beta-Carotene is a carotenoid and antioxidant that the human body can use for vitamin A production. In addition to the various beneficial effects of vitamin A, beta-carotene that is not transformed into vitamin A also has a positive effect on the skin: It is absorbed and stored in the skin, and protects it against UV radiation, which is strongly connected to skin ageing.
